Record a Test Result
Annual testing is the backbone of a backflow prevention program. SmartComply makes recording results fast and accurate.
How to Record
- Navigate to the assembly's detail page or use Backflow → Record Test.
- Select the assembly (by serial number, address, or facility).
- Enter test details:
- Test Date
- Tester — Select from registered certified testers
- Test Type — Annual, Retest, or Initial
- Result — Pass or Fail
- Gauge Readings — Check valve 1, check valve 2, and relief valve readings (PSI differential)
- Repairs Performed — If applicable, record repair details
- Click Submit.
What Happens After Submission
- The assembly's compliance status updates automatically.
- If the test failed, a retest deadline is set according to your configured rules.
- If overdue notices were pending, they are resolved.
- The test appears in the assembly's history and the facility's activity log.
Tester Portal Submissions
Certified testers with portal access can submit results directly from the External Tester Portal. These submissions appear with a "Portal" badge and go through the same validation rules.
